He is HERE...

Ashton Creed Fuller is born!

After going to bed the night before around 11pm and having to wake up at 3am- there was NOT much sleeping involved prior to his arrival! Andrew woke up very chipper and full of smiles were as I on the other hand was a little nervous, therefore I was quite! I had just about an hour to get ready, so I fix my hair, put on my make up and prayed that God would give me the strength to trust in HIM with everything! We left our with bags packed and head to Texas Women's hospital with NO traffic on the road! It was a little weird walking into the hospital asking someone where do I go I am having my baby this morning! They directed us to the c-section holding room- that is right a holding room! Andrew was able to sit back there with me while they filled out my paperwork, hooked up my IV, and I changed into my designer gown- thanks Jodie! Andrew was so wired with all the excitement he was pacing the little 6x6 room if that calling everyone to make sure they were on their way and if anyone could please pick him up a coffee! I had to remind him that this was not about him and that no one was going to stop to get him coffee with the chance of missing the arrival of Ashton due to some unforeseen mishap! So the wait began- the nurses were ready, but Doctor was no were to been seen! I kinda slipped and told them my lovely doctor was perfect in every way, except she was always late! Finally she arrived after 6:30am, which is when he was suppose to be coming into the world per c-section world! I walked into the OR and got up onto the table, so they could prep me for Ashton's arrival! It was so odd...I was lying there on a table with the bottom half of me uncovered and people all around me moving about to prepare for the c-section! Finally they brought Andrew in and about 10 minutes later I could hear the sweet voice of Ashton as they pulled him out! His little feet were tucked up under my rib cage, so they had to actually lift my RIBS and pull him out! Ouch! TIME moves so slowly after they get him out until I am able to see him- it feels like hours, but really is only 5 minutes! They bundle him up and weight him prior to me holding him! Finally I held the little angel in my arms and realized again how GREAT our GOD is! I held him for awhile and then Andrew and the nurse took him to the nursery and down the hall for the family to see him! Nana, Pops, Mimi, Devra, Brett, and Archer were all there waiting with BRIGHT eyes and open hearts! They were so pleased to see him, per Andrew! :)
So I continue to stay in the OR as they sew me up and then bring me to the recovery room! As I was listening to everyone discuss what they were getting their significant others I glanced over to the cabinets and realized I could see my reflection and watched them sew me up! I was wheeled to the recovery room, which I was alert and going crazy, because I wanted to see my little boy and kiss all over him! FYI: when I had Archer I didn't remember anything they had me drugged because I was so weak and tired after labor! Less than an hour later they brought me to my room and I had to wait another hour to see Ashton- they were doing his shot and cleaning him up!
I was determined to get home ASAP and not stay a week this time, so I was alert and up as soon as I could completely feel my legs! There really is not much sleep at the hospital due to the nurses coming in and out taking vital signs and temp. Poor Andrew slept every night at the hospital on the little bed that really would work only for a two year, because it is so short! I joked with Andrew that was his torture for the pain I went through having his son! :) He didn't laugh too much! We celebrated Valentine's Day at the hospital where I received my "push" gift, which was a cushion cut amythest surrounded by diamonds! I LOVE it! Andrew, Archer, Ashton, and I are all February babies, so it is VERY special to me as well as the month! So many gifts that month from GOD HIMSELF!

Prior to Ashton's arrival

Pictures were taken by Jason Mier Photography in January

We had lots of fun and it will surely be a great memory!
At first we were not sure that Archer was going to cooperate, but with Christmas candy still in the pantry and blocks to build- he was a GREAT little model after the bribes!

Archer's favorite pose- standing between your legs and smiling!
"Peek and Boo"
After we were done- Archer pulled the stool out and start to smile and was posing in different positions for about 15 minutes- then stood up and said, "Archer all done!"
Jason caught some on film and they were great!
Archer's a natural or just a cheese!
...a natural, so I think!
